CVS 101

Cvs is one of my favorite drug stores to shop at. Hopefully by time you conquer it; it’ll be yours as well. The very first thing you will need to do is get a Extra Care Card. Where do you get one? They are located with the cashiers at your local store. Ask them to fill out an application! Give phone number and email because this is what connects you to savings! You can also go online and have one mailed to you Thru theCvs website. IMO if you have a CVS in your town I suggest you go get one vs. having them mail you one because you are here to start saving money NOW! Once you have registered your card you are ready to shop! (Well almost ready lol)

CVS LINGO

  1. ECB’s (extra care bucks) these are CVS’s Dollars. ( your card is tied to your ecb’s only you and that card will be able to spend those ecb’s)
  2. Price Scanner- Machine where you will scan your card to get coupons each week (scan until it stops printing)
  3. Store coupons- These are coupons that you are going to be able to stack with manufacture coupons. (stack means combine use 1 cvs coupon and 1  manf. coupon)
  4. CRT- Cash register tape- is a coupon that prints out under your receipt.
  5. $/$$ Money off Money coupons. These are CVS coupons that are for example $3/$15 (get $3.00 off of $15.00 purchase) these coupons are either emailed to  you (hence why its important to provide your email) or CRT or at the Price Scanner.
  6. Rolling- Rolling means that when you buy an item that offering example: Buy $10.00 worth of Hersey candy get $5.00 ECB’s back on your next purchase. Your going to buy your $10.00 worth of candy (the ones that are included in the sale) and when you get your $5.00 back your either going to do that deal again (if the limit is more than one) if not then you will apply the $5.00 ECB’s you just received to your next transaction that is going to generate more ECB’s

Ok so now you have all the CVS lingo down you are ready to learn How to Conquer the CVS GAME!! First we look over the CVS ads. We match the sales with our coupons! There are several sales that go on each week. Your very first trip you are going to spend a little out of pocket to get your extracarebucks started unless its just free with coupon and sale. Look at this picture below

This is showing Speed Stick Stainguard Deodorant $2.99 Extracarebucks $2.00 $0.99 after Extracarebucks. Limit 1 (small print on the bottom) OK so say for example we know we have a $1.00/1 Coupon on any Speed stick. That $1.00 off plus the $2.00 ECB’s that we will get back when we buy this is going to make this item free! How u say?

Speed Stick $2.99
Use $1.00/1 Speed stick coupon
Final Price: $1.99 + you’ll get $2.00 ECB’s back

to spend on your next purchase! So that takes the $1.99 u just spent on this item away making it FREE. You always have to look at it “after Ecb’s and coupons”

So now we have $2.00 ECB’s to spend right. The best way to keep your ECB’s rolling is to keep purchasing items that are on sale and that generate more extracarebucks! There’s going to be times that you will have a Manufacture coupon and a CVS coupon for the same product. YOU CAN combine those two together and get more savings off your item. Now we find something that is $2.00 to roll our ecb’s. If there isn’t anything you will then use that $2.00 coupon towards example Fusion Razors are on sale $9.99 get $5.00 ECB’s back. Well you have a $4.00 off coupon This is when you roll your $2.00 ecb to get an additional $3.00.

Fusion Razor $9.99
Use $4.00/1 Fusion Razor Manufacture coupon
Used $2.00 ECB’ from the deodorant we just did ^
Total: $3.99 Plus Get back $5.00 ECB’s

You will use that $5.00 ECB’s on next purchase or save for next weeks sale if you have already reached your limit! (that too will show you on the bottom of your receipt ) ROLLING!!!! GET it? If not please contact me direct by email or on face book. I want u to learn this!!! Every week I will post CVS deals for that week and you will see them posted just like the scenario above. I will also let  you know what insert the coupon that you’ll need for  your shopping trip came in!

Please Feel free to share just Link back
